What is Magnesium?
Magnesium is a chemical compound that holds tremendous health benefits and can be extracted from the sea water. About 60% of magnesium can be found in our body and is a vital mineral to help with regulating our major bodily chemical processes and nervous system function.
Why magnesium oil?
Magnesium oil is magnesium chloride concentrate derived from the Zechstein seabed in liquid form, there’s no actual oil in the mixture. Magnesium oil works as a supplement via transdermal application.
What are the benefits of magnesium oil?
Magnesium is necessary in the production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) the main source of energy in cells. Therefore, the lack of magnesium in the body may cause lethargy and affect active performance. With adequate amount of magnesium levels in the body, it helps to accelerate the recovery of muscle ache, reduce cramps and strengthen bone density (by encouraging the body to fully utilize calcium).
Magnesium also plays a role in supporting better sleep by maintaining healthy level of GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid), a neurotransmitter that blocks impulses between nerve cells in the brain. Low GABA levels in the body may result to feeling restless, insomnia, headache or anxiety.
Is it safe for everyone?
Magnesium is naturally present in some of foods that we consumed and are well tolerated generally. However, if you have a medical condition, check with your doctor before taking any magnesium supplements. Magnesium have laxative effect, overdosing on magnesium may cause diarrhea.
How often can I apply Magnesium Oil?
It's recommended to spray magnesium oil on the tummy before bed especially after an evening shower or on the desired area when necessary. Generally, there’s no major side effect except one may experience stinging sensation for the first few times, gradually the stinging sensation will subside after continuous usage.
Why do I feel itchy/stinging/burning sensation after applying magnesium oil?
Most first timers may experience this sensation and it occurs mainly due to magnesium deficiency in the body. Diluting the magnesium oil with filtered water or carrier oil such as jojoba / coconut/ sweet almond oil may also help to reduce the discomfort.
